September 27,2023- Bacolod City hosted the gathering of Negros Association of Government Information Officers & Liaisons (NAGIOL), an organization for all Information Officers in Negros Occidental from the National Government Agencies and the Local Government Units. The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) organized NAGIOL in the early 1990s and mobilized the organization for development communication activities.

The event commenced with a warm message from Mayor Albee Benitez, delivered on his behalf by Bacolod Public Information Officer, Ms. Carmela Gamboa – “Your hard work and initiatives to continuously reach out to your constituents through accurate and complete delivery of information and by recognizing the ever-evolving landscape of media and its profound influence on the society, is vital to the present generation,” Mayor Albee said in his message.

The main session followed with Ms. Easter Anne Doza introducing Atty. Kathrina Trinio-Caña as the first speaker, who provided insights into the upcoming October 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

The highlight of the meeting was the comprehensive update on the Asenso Yuhum Housing Project led by EA to the Mayor, Mr. Rodel Parcon.

Mr. Parcon covered the project’s background, discussed the ARAO Yuhum Residences with its open spaces, amenities, number of units, and site development plan, and also delved into the details of the BREDCO Yuhum Executive, including project specifics, unit numbers, layouts, and pricing.

The meeting concluded on a collaborative note with an open forum, where NAGIOL officers and members engaged in a dynamic question and answer session with Atty. Caña and Mr. Parcon, gaining further insights into the topics discussed.

This meeting served as a platform for information exchange and collaboration within the NAGIOL community.
