Bacolod City Housing Project

BHA prepares for the turnover of Asenso Yuhum units under the 4PH Program July 6, 2024- The Bacolod Housing Authority (BHA), together with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Scheirman Construction, and Pag-IBIG, organized an orientation for the beneficiaries of the Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino Program (4PH) of President Bongbong Marcos in preparation for the turnover of housing units to 125 beneficiaries of buildings 1 and 2 today at the Asenso Yuhum Village Clubhouse, Arao, Brgy. Vista Alegre. This initiative is a flagship project of Mayor Albee’s administration, aimed at addressing housing needs in Bacolod. Enlightening the attendees were DHSUD-VI Regional Director Eva P. Marfil, Pag-IBIG representatives AA Officer IV Kenneth P. Macoy, Housing Relationship Officer John Brix S. Arrobang, Member Services Officer IV Janice Lee Mediavilla, and Accounting & Loans Support Assistant Lorena Mae Lasquite, Scheirman Construction Engineer Christopher Villacete, and BHA Head Ma. Victoria D. Parreñas. The status report on beneficiary unit selection and assignment as of July 5, 2024, presented four buildings with a total of 293 assigned units out of 296 units, with the remaining three as model units. Applicants are still expected to complete and finalize their application and requirements before the turnover. “I’m so excited. At the age of 57, siling ko mahingagaw man ko avail sang program sang aton gobyerno which is kanami gid kaayo kay na overcome ang fear ko sang excitement nga at last, at the age of 57, makabalay naman ko sang akon kaugalingon. To have a roof over our head, to have a home that we can call our own is one of the ultimate dreams of an ordinary Filipino people,” remarked 4PH Program beneficiary Emmanuel Villaera. Additionally, the beneficiaries awarded units in buildings 1 and 2 will be the first to have their units turned over to them, while buildings 3 and 4 are still undergoing construction. Rehabilitation and Improvement of Old City Hall Building Gro

August 6, 2024 – Today, Bacolod City, in collaboration with ESJ & Sons Construction, held a blessing and groundbreaking ceremony for the rehabilitation of the Old City Hall Building located at the corner of Araneta-Luzuriaga Streets in Bacolod City. The project entails the design and construction of a four-storey building with a basement, adhering to the National Building Code of the Philippines and other accepted design standards for government office centers. The estimated cost of the project is 222 million pesos, funded by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP). During his opening speech, Mayor Albee Benitez emphasized that the rehabilitation or improvement concept will embrace Bacolod’s history and use new technology to create a modern, efficient and inclusive hub that will serve the needs of every bacolod for generations to come. Attendees included Bacolod City Councilors, City Administrator Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, Development Bank of the Philippines, National Historical Commission – Negros Occidental, City Engineer’s Office, department heads, and barangay officials, with Rev. Bacolod City Health Complex Groundbreaking Ceremony

July 24, 2024 – Today, the City Engineer’s Office, City Health Office, and Home World Construction held a blessing and groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the soon-to-rise new Bacolod City Health Complex located in Brgy 20. This priority project by Mayor Albee Benitez is part of his vision to provide better health care services to Bacolod City. The complex will cover 4,683 square meters and feature two 4-storey buildings. Building 1 will have a floor area of 1,600 square meters, while Building 2 will cover 3,073 square meters. The project is estimated to cost 219 million pesos. OIC CHO Head Dr. Grace Tan opened the event, expressing pride in the improvements to come. Mayor Albee Benitez emphasized the importance of health services, noting the new facility’s expanded capacity and additional services. Attendees included Congressman Greg Gasataya, Bacolod City Councilors, DOH Western Visayas representatives, City Health Office staff, Homeworld owner Mr. Charles Dumancas and his wife Ginnette Yanson-Dumancas, City Engineer Office staff, DRRMO Bacolod, department heads, and barangay officials. Radar-Assisted Traffic Lights Installed in Key Locations

July 10, 2024 — The installation of radar-assisted traffic lights at 5 major intersections are ongoing to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in Bacolod City. The locations are: 1. Burgos St. – Brgy. Estefania Sofia Gonzaga (Metro Bacolod Hospital) 2. Alijis Rd. – Lacson Ext. (Pao De Arco) 3. Araneta Ave. – Carlos Hilado Ave. (Cegasco) 4. Burgos St. – San Juan St. (Near SM) 5. B.S. Aquino Drive – San Juan St. (Sto. Niño Stop) The three locations (Buri Road – Brgy. Mandalagan, Police Station 6 – Barangay Taculing and North Capitol Road) have already been completed. These lights use radar technology to detect traffic volume and speed, adjusting timings dynamically to improve flow. A notable feature is the pedestrian push button, enhancing safety by prioritizing crossing when pressed. The inclusion of radar-assisted traffic lights, are part of Mayor Albee’s initiative to improve and upgrade the city, particularly in addressing traffic concerns. Perspective Design of the Bacolod City General Hospital

This is the perspective design of the Bacolod City General Hospital located at Brgy. Vista Alegre. Set to Serve as a State-of-the-Art Healthcare Facility for Bacolod City. There will be 127-bed capacity and will feature various amenities such as a pharmacy, OB-Gyne, pediatrics, surgery, internal medicine departments, outpatient services, emergency room, dental clinic, operating theater, chapel, intensive care unit, and diagnostic lab. The Bacolod Tree & Eco Park Project

𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 11, 2024 | 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘳’𝘴 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 Mayor Albee is intensifying efforts to enhance healthcare services in Bacolod. During a meeting with the City Health Office, led by City Health Officer Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli, the Mayor emphasized his commitment and initiatives aimed at bringing positive changes to the city’s healthcare offerings. As BacCHP continues its dedicated service to the people of Bacolod, the Mayor drew attention to current and future endeavors in constructing and upgrading healthcare facilities throughout Bacolod. This includes the development of Primary Health Care Facilities in Vista Alegre (East), BREDCO (West), and Cabug (South), as well as the enhancement of an Infirmary in Alijis, set for conversion into a Level 1 Hospital. The City Health Office offers a wide range of services to the public, including Medical Consultation, Immunization, Animal Bite and Treatment Center, Prenatal, Dental, Reproductive Health and Wellness, Clinical Laboratory and Drug Testing, Radiology, Infectious Diseases Services, Health and Sanitation, Issuance of Health and Medical Certificates, and Mobile Health Services, among others. An assessment of the current healthcare infrastructure reveals the presence of 30 Barangay health stations, along with the Lying In and Birthing Center situated at the City Health Compound, and the Bacolod Mental Health Center located in Purok Paglaum, Barangay Mansilingan.
