March 13, 2024 – In partnership with the Office of the City Civil Registrar, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) spearheaded the distribution of the Certificate of Live Birth SECPA copies that is completely free of charge to a number of 1,300 Bacolodnon residents today at the Bacolod City College Activity Center.

Present were Mayor Albee Benitez, Vice-Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Councilors Jason Villarosa, Simple Distrito, Cindy Rojas, Pao Sy, Kalaw Puentevella, Civil Registrar’s Head Atty. Hermilo Pauyon, PSA – Negros Occidental Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes, PSA – Negros Occidental Registration Officer II Edwin P. Guiking, barangay captains, and Bacolodnon residents coming from different barangays.

As part of their Birth Assistance Registration Project, the PSA shared that it is their goal to register the birth certificates of all Filipinos in the whole nation. The project’s primary target are the marginalized sector of the community, the indigenous people, and the Muslim communities. To achieve their goal, one of their initiative is the weekly-scheduled mobile registration in identified barangays within Bacolod.

The SECPA copy is considered the authenticated copy issued by the PSA. If a beneficiary failed to attend today’s distribution, he or she can request for it at the Office of the Civil Registrar. Make sure to bring a valid identification card.
