The Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) Conference held its first day at Bacolod City Government Center’s Masskara Hall yesterday.
This is a two-day gathering of the executive and legislative branches of government.
The ELA is a unifying document corresponding to the term of local elective officials that is developed and mutually agreed upon by both executive and legislative departments of the local government.
Those who attended the said event were Mayor Albee Benitez and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran together with the Sangguniang Panlungsod and Department heads of the government.
This is an important gathering to harmonize the legislative agenda with the Mayor’s executive agenda, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said.
This meeting’s objective is to evaluate each department’s Devolution Transition Plan (DTP), which must be included on the Executive – Legislative Agenda (ELA), and look for initiatives that should be given higher priority and included on the ELA.
Also to ensure that the priority thrusts included in ELA are considered in the FY 2023 budgets of the LGU concerned.
Moreover, ELA should be formulated within the first 100-days of assumption of the new set of local officials. Since Mayor Albee Benitez will finish his first 100-days in October this document is expected.
At the conference, Mayor Albee Benitez discussed his goals for the city, including e-governance, which would make the best use of information technology to deliver services effectively and efficiently while making it convenient for Bacolodnons and stakeholders to conduct business.
“If I’ll put my self to the shoes of a normal Bacolodnon, I’d like to have a government in the future that addresses my concern, addresses what I need without giving me difficulty to access help”, Mayor Albee said.
