“We chose Bacolod City kay gusto sang kadam-an diri guid sa Bacolod City” South Western Visayas District, District Ministry Supervisor Rev. Nazer Hasim stated why the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMACOP) chose Bacolod as their venue for their 57th General Assembly.

“First, madamo Ilonggo sa Mindanao nga ang ila roots diri sa Negros… Secondly this is a very convenient place for us para sa amon delegates nationally kag mahapos kay ari kita [Bacolod City] sa tunga sang Pilipinas, and we have the available place to accommodate sa kadamuon sang attendees” He added.

The general assembly commenced yesterday, April 26, at the SMX Convention Center Bacolod City until April 29, presided by the CAMACOP President Eduardo Cajes, joined by the national board of trustees and was attended by more than 3,500 CAMACOP workers, missionaries and guests.

This momentous event was also attended by the SP Chairman Committee on Fire, Social Defense, and Natural Disasters, and Committee on Public Works and Services, Councilor Psyche Marie “Pao” Sy, who welcomed all the delegates on behalf of the City Mayor Albee Benitez.

“We appreciate the distance that you have traveled to be with us today… We are pleased to have you in the city of smiles… looking forward to engaging with you in a fruitful discussion and building strong ties among our Christian brothers and sisters from CAMACOP.” Sy stated.

With the theme “BE TRUE” this is a reaffirmation of their commitment to God to be true to his word, to their calling and to be true Jesus as Lord and Savior.

“Nagapasalamat guid kami sa City Government of Bacolod through the leadership of our City Mayor Albee Benitez, for being our contact person and providing us service to accommodate us in Bacolod.” DMS Rev. Hasim concluded.

CAMACOP was incorporated in 1947 as a national church of the C&MA Philippine Missions, and expanded its mission works in the Philippines in 1902, with the mission to transform communities and to aggressively disciple the nations by engaging in holistic development ministries; and by planting churches that proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King.
