April 27, 2023 – Bacolod City is one with the World in celebrating the World Autism awareness Month at the Bacolod City Government Center Lobby.

The event was graced by Executive Assistant Lea Carmela Zayco, Councilor Celia Flor, Councilor Pao Sy, Resource Speaker Gabriel Christian Lacson, and attended by the Bacolod City SPED Center students, parents, teachers, and the Welcome Home Foundation Ministry for the Deaf.

This event was to pay tribute to the Learners in the Autism Spectrum and recognize their rightful place in the community through special presentations from the Bacolod City SPED Students and candle lighting ceremony.

“Let’s all together work to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community to live fully. We believe that acceptance is creating a world where everyone in the Autism community is connected to the support they need, when they need it.” Sy stated.
