July 19, 2023- As part of the 49th Nutrition Month celebration, an exciting event called Merkado Day, started today July 19 and will run until July 21 at the back Entrance of the BCGC.

This event aims to promote the theme “Healthy Diet Gawing Affordable for All,” showcases different healthy and nutritious products from Bacolod vendors including the members of Mother’s Club and community gardens.

Led by the City Agriculture Office, Sum-ag’s Community Garden caretaker, Ms. Hazel Pat, City Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Rosalie Deocampo and City Nutrition Program Coordinator Ms. Lora E. Clarin, and partners Taala and SRA Sugar from CCLDO. Their shared goal is to establish community gardens in every Barangay, benefitting pregnant women, lactating women, and malnourished kids.

By empowering individuals and communities to cultivate their own gardens and providing support to those in need, this event strives to improve the overall health and well-being of Bacolodnons.
