November 27, 2022 – In line with the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), the Zonta Club of Bacolod organized a free access “Stay Safe: Self-Defense class” at Bacolod City Public Plaza.
The cause is in partnership with Alliance for Better Bacolod and the Local Council Against Anti Trafficking and Violence Against Women.
The self-defense class aims to mentally prepare a woman by enhancing her confidence and self-efficacy to protect themselves in times of being threatened with physical assault.
This activity was led by Windell Billones and participated by about 50 women participants.
Notable attendees were Zonta President Reeda Bantug, immediate past president Clarissa Araneta, Sectoral Division Head Carmeli Bantug-Zayco and Councilors Kalaw Puentevella and Em Ang.
