The City of Bacolod Gender and Development Council organized a workshop on responsive planning and budget for the Gender and Development (GAD) this April 22, 2024, at the SP Session Hall, Bacolod City Government Center.
The primary objective of this workshop is to create a detailed outline of the budget from each office involved in the Gender of Development (GAD) in the City of Bacolod for the year 2025. The session commenced with a short prayer followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Afterwards, an opening remark from committee chair on women, gender, family, and childcare, and also the presiding officer, Councilor Celia Flor. Before proceeding to the presentation proper, the office did a recap on the discussions made during the orientation on GAD planning and budgeting last March 26, 2024 at Middle Town Inn.
The workshop was attended by representatives from DSSD, CHO, PAO, SK, PESO, DILG, City Budget, MITCS, CCLDO, BCPO, and Liga ng mga Barangay. Each office was provided with a template on the proposed gender and development plan for the year 2025. The form contains a series of questions such as Gender Issue or GAD Mandate, GAD Objective, Relevant LGU Program or Project, GAD Activity, Performance Indicator and Target, GAD Budget, the Lead or Responsible Office, Title of LGU Program or Project, the HGDG Design/Funding/Facility/Generic Checklist Score, Total Annual Program/ Project Budget, and the GAD Attributed Program/Project Budget. Each question must be filled in with all the necessary information that is to be presented and evaluated during the workshop by the Bacolod City Gender and Development Council.
The workshop concluded with the words of gratitude from the said council thanking everyone for their active participation during the workshop, and wishing them a successful and progressive implementation of their respective programs in the case that it will be approved by the city government.
