June 25, 2024 – The Regional Development Council – VI (RDC-VI) organized a full council meeting for the second quarter of CY 2024 with the purpose of discussing various agendas necessary for the further development of Western Visayas today at La Proa 2, L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City.
Led by RDC-VI Chairperson Hon. Albee Benitez, prominent figures contributed to the meeting, including NEDA-VI Assistant Regional Director Engr. Alexander O. Aquio, DHSUD-VI Regional Director Eva Marfil, CHED-VI Regional Director Raul Alvarez, DTI-VI Regional Director Rachel Nufable, Tourism-VI Regional Director Crisanta Rodriguez, various city officials such as Province of Negros Occidental Governor’s representative Anna Marie Lucasan, Governor of Iloilo Arthur Defensor, Jr., and government sectors such as TESDA, DepEd, Infrastructure Development Committee (IDC), Philippine Infotmation Agency (PIA), PNP, and the National Security Council (NSC), among many others.
The agenda covered drafting the National Security Strategy for 2024, the presentation of the National Security Policy for 2024-2028 which is under the Executive Order No. 37 dated August 10, 2023 and was signed by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
Finally, special committee reports were shared such as the proposed Capiz circumferential and coastal road project of DPWH and the endorsed recommendation of the Panay-Guimaras-Negros Inter-Island Link Bridge project steering committee to appoint the DPWH-UPMO as its co-chairperson.
