March 25, 2023 – DILG Memo Circular 2023-001, the “Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay” (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project was launched last March 25, 2023 in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City.

Project HAPAG is a nationwide strategy aimed to capacitate the barangays, especially the households towards sustainable agriculture initiatives like community & household gardening to produce vegetables and fruits right at their own backyards.

This project will further strengthen sustainable gardening in the barangay as they add more communal garden adjacent to the barangay health center and further extending this initiative to their respective puroks as well as the households of Nutritionally-At-Risk groups in the community with the end goal of establishing a self-sufficient households reducing if not totally ending food insecurity, malnutrition and poverty.

Led by PB Rodney C. Carmona together with all the barangay kagawads and barangay personnel.

This event is also supported by the following: Coun. Kalaw Puentevella (CNC Vice-Chair), DILG Director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag together with Ms. Sandra Hechanova and Sir Greg Gomez, Ms. Maricar Quiro of City Department of Agriculture, Police Capt. Rondyl Tapang, CNAO Dr. Rosalie G. Deocampo, CNPC Lora Clarin, with Representatives from BFP and Dep-Ed, and other groups and stakeholders of Barangay Sum-ag.

Above it all, Project HAPAG is another strategy to unite agencies and bring people together to that one common goal of NutrisiyongSapatParasaLahat for all Sum-aganons!
