The City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) convened for their 1st Quarter Meeting at L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City, with Mayor Albee Benitez presiding over the session.

The meeting brought together key officials from various member agencies, including Bacolod City Councilor Pao Sy, BCPO City Director PCOL Joeresty Coronica, City Prosecutor Ma. Theresa Ditching, POSO Head PBGen. Primitivo Tabujara Jr., FSUPT Jenny Mae Masip of Bacolod City Fire Station, and representatives from the SK Federation, BJMP, PDEA, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Immigration, City Health Office (CHO), Commission on Human Rights (CHR), City Legal Office, Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office NIR, CADAC/POSO, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI, Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), Citizen Crime Watch, Burgos Ramos Vendor Association, and the United Bacolod Women and Vendor Association among others

During the meeting, the DILG Secretariat presented the proposed 2025 CPOC meeting schedule, which was submitted for resolution. Updates on anti-illegal drug operations were also discussed, with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) presenting its 1st Quarter 2025 Accomplishment Report. This report detailed recent operations, the number of arrested drug personalities, and cases filed. PDEA also outlined plans to strengthen its Anti-Illegal Drug Advocacy Campaign, expanding efforts in schools and engaging more stakeholders to enhance community awareness and participation.

Similarly, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported on its anti-illegal drug initiatives and accomplishments for the first quarter of 2025. Providing an update on Bacolod’s peace and order situation, City Director PCOL Joeresty Coronica shared insights into crime trends and ongoing law enforcement efforts. In preparation for the upcoming National and Local Elections, BCPO outlined its security strategies, which include sustaining law enforcement operations, enforcing city ordinances, and increasing the number of drug-cleared barangays.

The City Health Office (CHO) then presented its Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) Accomplishment Report, covering achievements in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, as well as updates on rehabilitation and treatment programs.

Another key agenda item was the proposed inclusion of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) as a member of CADAC, which was submitted for resolution. Meanwhile, FSUPT Jenny Mae Masip of the Bacolod City Fire Station delivered a Program Review and Analysis, including an administrative update, logistical updates, operational updates, and other matters. She also discussed the planned activities for Fire Prevention Month this March.

The meeting reaffirmed the city’s commitment to strengthening peace and order, intensifying anti-drug campaigns, and enhancing community safety through coordinated efforts among government agencies, law enforcement, and local stakeholders.
