
March 14, 2025 – The City of Bacolod, through its City Agriculture Office, officially launched its agri-fishery digital platform program to promote local farmers produce and provide affordable food options to consumers last March 13 at the Gaisano Grand City Central Mall Supermarket, Bacolod City.
To ensure a steady supply of commodities, an online digital system was established between the Agro-Digital PH and the local farmers which will serve its purpose in updating production, price, and logistics.
The launching highlighted various fresh produce of Bacolod City’s local farmers which comes at affordable prices such as Onions, Eggplants, Okra, String Beans, Tomatoes, Oyster Mushrooms, Bell pepper, Pechay, and Batuan, among many others.
The program was conceptualized six months under the guidance and support of Mayor Albee Benitez to ensure food security, provide local farmers with consistent livelihood opportunities, and give a healthy, fresh, and affordable food choices to buyers.
Present during the activity were City Agriculture Office Head Maricar Quiro, local farmers of the Bacolod City Integrated Small Farmers Federation, and Agro-Digital PH Founder Henry James Sison and members Jet Orbida, Lissa Jardin, Angelene Tengco, and Bea May Torres.
Consumers are invited to come and explore the numerous food options made available by the city’s farmers at the Fruits and Vegetables section of the Gaisano Supermarket which starts today and will continue every week.
