March 12, 2025- The Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas, Ligao City Chapter, Province of Albay, conducted a benchmarking activity in Bacolod City, where they were welcomed by Engr. Mae Cuaycong, Special Assistant to the Mayor.

The benchmarking focused on Bacolod City’s best practices and key programs under the administration of Mayor Albee Benitez. These included the Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP), the Bacolod Yuhum Housing Program, and the Electronic Business Integrated System (E-BIS).

Engr. Cuaycong highlighted that BacCHP is one of Mayor Benitez’s priority programs to ensure that every Bacolodnon has access to healthcare through the BacCHP card. This initiative extends beyond hospital services, reflecting the mayor’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare support. As part of this effort, wheelchairs are also distributed to those in need.

The Yuhum Housing Program aims to provide affordable housing to Bacolodnons, particularly those who cannot afford a home of their own. Meanwhile, the E-BIS (Electronic Business Integrated System) streamlines services at the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), improving efficiency and accessibility for business owners.

In addition to discussing these programs, Engr. Cuaycong shared information about Bacolod City’s four major festivals: the Bacolodiat Festival, Chicken Inasal Festival, Rum Festival, and the internationally renowned MassKara Festival.

As part of their benchmarking activities, the delegation will also take part in a city tour to further observe Bacolod’s programs and infrastructure.
