July 8, 2023- The Bacolod City Cooperative Development Council and City Cooperative & Livelihood Development Office, organized a cooperative fun walk, coastal clean-up, and mangrove planting event. The event took place at the beautiful Bird Sanctuary located in Purok Roma, Brgy. Punta Taytay.
The cooperative fun walk aimed to promote a sense of community and cooperation among participants while also advocating for environmental conservation. Participants came together to walk along the coast and enjoying the scenic views. Along the way, they actively engaged in a coastal clean-up to help preserve the natural beauty of the area.
To further contribute to the ecosystem, the participants also participated in mangrove planting, a vital activity to protect the coastline from erosion and provide a habitat for various marine species.
The event not only brought people together for a common cause but also raised awareness about the importance of cooperatives in promoting sustainable development. It highlighted the cooperative spirit of working together for the betterment of the community and the environment. The successful collaboration between the City Cooperative & Livelihood Development Office and Bacolod City Cooperative Development Council demonstrated their commitment to fostering cooperation and environmental stewardship.
