The Bacolod City Local Health Board convened, last week, at the City Mayor’s Office under the leadership of City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.
Joined by Councilor Claudio Jesus Raymundo Puentevella, the SP Committee on Health Chairperson, Kristine Solas from the Department of Health, Bryant Lao representing the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade, Leo Bentingalan as the Executive Assistant for Health, and Dr. Eric Saratan in his role as the Special Adviser for Health Concerns & Program. Engr. Mae Cuaycong, the Bacolod Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP) Focal Person, along with medical experts such as Dr. Alma Ruiz and Dr. Ava Joy Infante, Sarah Soliguen and Melina Feria.
The meeting’s agenda encompassed critical topics; The BacCHP Updates were discussed, reflecting the city’s ongoing commitment to comprehensive health initiatives.
Deliberations also revolved around proposed guidelines for random drug testing, emphasizing the city’s proactive approach to addressing substance abuse issues; furthermore, the expansion of the Local Health Board indicates the city’s dedication to broadening its health-focused collaborations.
Lastly, the meeting provided a platform to address UHC concerns, underscoring the city’s determination to ensure equitable access to healthcare services for all its residents, the gathering exemplified the collective effort of various stakeholders in Bacolod City’s pursuit to public health and well-being.
