November 22, 2023 -The Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) conducted a Workshop in line with the Children’s Month Celebration at the Middletown Inn, Bacolod.

The attendees are Faculty and Advisers of Bacolod City, VAW-C Officers, representatives from the Child Initiative project, Mrs. Sandy Hechanova from DILG and Councilor Celia Flor, standing on behalf of Mayor Albee Benitez.

Councilor Celia Flor opened the activity with her opening remaks delving into the pressing concerns of children “kung may kakulangan kamo, pun-an sang gobyerno,” Flor mentioned, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing these issues.

The highlight of the workshop focused on enlightening the young minds about their fundamental rights. The children collaborated with each and everyone to present their opinions about their fundamental rights. Aside from the reporting they also had a poster making activity which fostered the creativity of the children.

The output from the activities were reported, and a panel of invited department heads, and representatives from different child-focused organizations provided feedback.
