December 18, 2023- In a harmonious collaboration, the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Department of Social Service and Development (DSSD) joined hands to commemorate Children’s Funday and Mayor Albee Benitez‘s State of the Children’s Address. The vibrant setting of Magikland in Silay City served as the perfect backdrop for this joyous occasion.

Mayor Albee Benitez took center stage, delivering a comprehensive State of the Children’s Address that illuminated the city’s dedicated programs and services aimed at ensuring the well-being of its youngest citizens.

This heartwarming event attracted nearly 2,000 children from various barangays in Bacolod, alongside educators, parents, City Councilors Simple Distrito and Celia Flor, DSSD Officer-in-charge Ms. Alma Gustilo, and Ms. Carmeli Bantug.

The festive atmosphere was further elevated by captivating performances, including an intermission number by Tangub Day Care Center, a spirited presentation by Special Education (SPED) students, and a lively folk dance from Cabug Day Care Center.

Beyond its joyous elements, this celebration served a dual purpose: it not only brought the community together but also spotlighted the unwavering commitment of the city to creating a nurturing environment for the children.
