July 25, 2024 – The City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (CCLDO), together with the Office of Councilor Celia Flor, conducted a training on gender and development in cooperatives today at the Bacolod City Government Center Lobby.
Participated by CCLDO Head Brenda Burdeos, DAWN Foundation President Atty. Andrea Lizares Sy, Councilor Celia Flor, and resource speaker Ms. Mary Ann Duran – Dino, together with the 21 Bacolod-based cooperatives such as Banago Elementary School I – Multi-Purpose Cooperative Negros East Transport Service Cooperative (NETSCO), and Bacolod City Government Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BACGEM), among many others.
This two-day event from July 25 until 26 serves with the primary purpose to establish a safe, inclusive, and a non-gender discriminatory working environment.
Additionally, it also aims to increase awareness of gender issues and its impact on cooperative development and to develop the skills to implement gender-sensitive policies and practices.
Lastly, CCLDO aims to cater to other cooperatives in Bacolod who did not manage to participate.
