In a bid to enhance traffic management and accommodate daily commuters, Mayor Albee Benitez headed the meeting for the Bacolod Traffic Authority Council (BTAC) where a motion was passed establishing additional routes to travel to and from the Ayala Malls Capitol Central and surrounding establishments. Five new routes were proposed to be opened, coming from Homesite, Fortune Towne, Alijis, Eroreco, Shopping-La Salle.
The council meeting held at the conference room of the Mayor’s office at 9:00 in the morning was attended by Patrick Lacson, BTAO head; ENGR. Joshua Gaquit, LTFRB; Sharon Ciocon, Ayala Malls; Jinky Aguinaldo, Ayala Land; PMaj. Ramen Sarona, BCPO;Jun Asis, SSTONE; Shirley Mapa, TODA; Genoe Percival, TODA-SAO; Samuel Herrera, City Planning; Julio Belleza, City Engineering Office; Rodel Parcon, CMO and Carmela Gamboa, CMO-PIO.
Patrick Lacson, BTAO head, started the session with a motion recommending the opening of the 5 routes to serve daily commuters to the said area. With the council’s approval, a timeline for the test run was established. Sharon Ciocon, Mall Manager for Ayala Malls Capitol Central, also proposed that an interim terminal be opened for all
operators that would be plying the new routes. The terminal will be located along San Juan Road, right beside the mall’s parking area.
As soon as the resolution gets the SP’s approval, Mayor Albee wants to start the test run by first quarter of December.
