June 12, 2024 – With the theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan”, the City of Bacolod celebrated the 126th Philippine Independence Day today at the Bacolod City Public Plaza.

Led by Mayor Albee Benitez, together with numerous city officials, including City Administrator Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, Congressman Greg Gasataya, City Councilors Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Israel Salanga, Cindy Rojas, Em Ang, Al Victor Espino, Vladimir Gonzalez, Renecito Novero, Jason Villarosa, Kalaw Puentevella, Simple Distrito, Celia Flor, Pao Sy, and Danna Cuaycong Barzo.

The event highlighted the flag raising ceremony, the wreath laying, and the civic military parade with various agencies and organizations also joined the occasion such as the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade, Navy, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, and the Bureau of Fire Protection, among many others.
