BACOLOD’S PRIDE. Philippine Coast Guard Captain Christine Pauline Bergano-Diciano, a Bacolod native from Barangay Sum-ag, completed the Defense Acquisition Management Resident Course of the US Department of Defense at the Institute for Security Governance, Defense Security Cooperation Agency on October 28.
Diciano is one of three representatives from the Philippines that attended the course along with other international post graduates from Uzbekistan, Jordan, Czech Republic, Pakistan, Angola, Ghana, South Korea, Morocco, and Malaysia.
Together with her husband, Euphraim Jayson, they also became the first Filipino scholars of the Nippon Foundation Sasakawa program to graduate from World Maritime University in Malmo, Sweden.
Last September, Capt. Pauline also pioneered as one of the members of the Philippine team on Regional workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was the youngest and only female Aviation Commander to represent the country at the Airbus Search And Rescue Symposium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Currently, she has been nominated in the National awards for Outstanding Women in Law Enforcement (OWLENS) of the National Defense.
Diciano made history as the first woman commander of the Coast Guard Aviation Force and the first female pilot of the Philippine Coast Guard.
