The Bacolod City Government has undergone national validation for The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for 2022 at the Bacolod City Government Center lobby.
The national assessment team was led by Tohammi Abas and Ferdaussi Ross Abdullah, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) national validators.
10 areas of governance of the City have respectively presented their 2021 documentation report.
Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism and Culture and Arts, and Youth Development were the areas for validation.
Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez attended the said event.
“We have discussed several innovations and initiatives for these areas,” Benitez shared. “I am sure next year, not only will we pass SGLG, but we will also be a model for all other LGUs.”,
SGLG is “an award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program for all LGUs” as enshrined in Republic Act No. 11292 or The Seal of Good Local Governance Act of 2019.
The announcement of result and awarding is expected to happen November 2022, City Planning and Development Coordinator Mary Jean Ramos said.
