Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, and Jose Rizalino “Jerry” Acuzar, secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formally acknowledge Yuhum Village, the housing project of the Benitez administration, done at the Bacolod City Government Center, September 3, 2022.

“This a very historic moment in terms of our dream to have decent and affordable housing for every Bacolodnon”, proclaimed by Mayor Benitez.

Congressman Greg Gasataya, Mayor Joedith Gallego of Silay City and Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez represented by Atty. Meddie Arbolado Jr. witnessed the signing of the MOU.

The ceremonial signing was also attended by City councilors: Hon. Al Victor Espino, Hon. Jason Villarosa, Hon. Psyche Marie “Pao” Sy, Hon. Jude Thaddeus “Thaddy” Sayson, Hon. Vladimir Gonzalez, and Hon. Claudio Jesus “Kalaw” Puentevella; DHSUD undersecretaries, and the National Housing Authority (NHA).

The Yuhum village serves as one of many settlement projects of DHSUD to realize its “Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino: Zero Informal Settler Families (ISFs) program for 2028” which targets to build one million housing units per year or a total of six million housing units for six years.
