September 27, 2023– With the vision of becoming a Super City by 2025 and a model for inclusive, sustainable, and resilient development Bacolod City LGU vied for the Most Business-Friendly Title as it advanced to the final judging in the City Level 1 Category with the representatives convened at the City Mayor’s Conference Room 1 and presented it to the panelists via a Zoom Meeting.
Each LGU was tasked to prepare a 5-minute video presentation followed by a 20-minute Question. Atty. Karol Joseph Chiu, Secretary to the Mayor, gave his opening statement in behalf of Mayor Albee then a five-minute presentation on the LGU’s
accomplishments or initiatives spearheaded by the lead presenter Dr. Mae Llamas from LEDIPO along with Atty. Pacifico Maghari, City Administrator; CD Noel Aliño, Ms. Stela Rose Rayos head of BCPLO; Ms. Imelda Williams, Head of the City Budget; Ms. Mary Jean Ramos, CPDO head; Ms. Arlene Memoria from the City Treasurer, and the rest of the LEDIPO team.
The video presentation focused on the significant initiatives introduced by Bacolod City under the four (4) main criteria namely: 1) fast-tracking sustainable local economic development; 2) ease of doing business; 3) investment promotion and 4) enhancing sectoral competitiveness.
This award will be given by The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). Their esteemed panelists included various government agencies such as PLGF and DTI and IT companies were the ones to assess the entries.
Moreover, Announcement and Conferment of the Award will be made during the 49th Philippine Business Conference (PBC) on October 26, 2023 with the theme “Vision 2050: The Philippines – A First-World Economy” at the Manila Hotel.
