September 12, 2024- Today, the Bacolod Film Festival was officially opened at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, themed “Stories with a Smile”, with a special program featuring welcome remarks from Councilor Em Ang and an inspirational message from Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez. Their words set the tone for a celebration of creativity, culture, and local talent.

The event introduced the jurors, including Mr. Philip Chea, Joji Alonso, Direk Lawrence Fajardo, Mr. Wanggo Gallaga, and Direk Javier Reyes.

Ten films were recognized with awards, followed by film screenings in the cinema. Among the notable attendees were Bacolod Film Festival Director Seymor Sanchez, Councilor Israel Salanga, Bacolod City department heads, Ayala Malls Capitol Central General Manager Sharon Ciocon, along with directors, actors, and casts of the participating films.

The festival will run starting today until September 15, 2024.
