The National Commission of Senior Citizen Commissioner, Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, engaged in discussions with Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, DSSD Head Ms. Alma Gustilo and Representative of Councilor Celia Flor. Commending the city’s leadership under Mayor Albee, Dr. Loreche highlighted his trailblazing initiative of implementing a QR Code system for senior citizens ID, a first in Bacolod.
Dr. Loreche expressed her desire to replicate Bacolod City’s successful model in other local government units within her cluster. “What Bacolod City has is something I would like to bring to the LGU in my cluster,” she conveyed to Mayor Albee.
The focus of Commissioner Dr. Loreche’s visit extended beyond the innovative QR Code system, delving into discussions about the Health and Wellness Center and proposed enhancements to the programs and activities offered at the Senior Citizen Center. As part of their presentation, Dr. Loreche shared “A Pioneering Progress: The National Commission’s Blueprint for Senior Citizens’ Welfare.” This blueprint outlines an array of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of senior citizens, including relaxation and other enriching activities.
