The City Government of Bacolod and Small Business Corporation (SBC) convened for an initial planning on offering loans and financial trainings for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Friday, January 6.
Entrepreneurship programs and trainings are on plans to hone financial maturity of vendors and business owners of the city before facilitating appropriate loans.
SBC Director Joe Jay Doctora expressed the goal to potentially graduate all MSMEs into bigger enterprises. “To create impact on “underserved and underbanked yet financeable micro businesses.”
The meeting also gave emphasis on reaching Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBEs), granting incentives, convenient payment transactions, and encouraging micro businesses to acquire permits.
Secretary to Mayor Atty. Karol Joseph Chiu, City Mayor’s Office, Public Employment Services Office, Local Economic and Investment Promotions Office, Business Permits and Licensing Office, City Planning and Development Office, and Representatives of Councilor Thaddy Sayson and Councilor Celia Flor attended the meeting.
