December 19, 2024 – Last December, 06 2024, Mayor Albee Benitez, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and PhilRice, distributed 254 bags of inbred palay seeds to 181 local farmers from seven barangays: Alangilan, Granada, Cabug, Felisa, Sum-ag, Handumanan, and Alijis.

This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to bolster food security by equipping local farmers with quality seeds to enhance rice production. By addressing potential challenges in supply, the program aims to prevent future rice shortages and ensure a stable and sustainable food supply for Bacolod City.
