February 21, 2025 – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in coordination with the Bacolod City Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD), conducted the turnover of relief goods for families affected by a recent fire incident in Purok Pagla-um, Barangay 17.

The fire, which broke out earlier this week, left 7 houses totally damaged and 4 partially damaged. A total of 37 families, including 25 renters and 1 sharer, were affected, displacing 78 individuals.

DSSD personnels assisted in the distribution of relief packs, ensuring that the affected families received much-needed aid, including food, hygiene kits, and other essential items.

The city government continues to monitor the situation and extend further assistance to help the fire victims recover.
