December 6, 2024- The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region VI recently conducted a 3-day eLGU User’s Training and Data Build-Up at the Bacolod City Government Center, which began on December 4, 2024. This training aims to enhance the technical capabilities of Local Government Units (LGUs) by improving data management, integration, and service delivery through the adoption of modern digital tools.
This initiative is part of the DICT’s broader efforts to modernize and streamline local government operations through the adoption of digital tools. The workshop focuses on key modules within the eLGU system, which include the Electronic Local Civil Registry (eLCR), the Community Tax Certificate (Cedula) module, and the Electronic News (eNews) platform.
The eLCR module is designed to streamline local civil registry processes, making it easier for LGUs to manage and update vital records such as births, deaths, and marriages. The Cedula module aims to digitize the issuance of Community Tax Certificates, allowing for faster and more efficient processing of this important document. Meanwhile, the eNews platform will be leveraged to improve communication and information dissemination between the local government and the public, ensuring timely and accurate updates on government activities, programs, and services.
Representatives from key government departments were actively involved in the workshop, including the Treasurer’s Office, City Mayor’s Office, eNews/MITCS, Local Civil Registry, and Cedula Office. They were trained on effectively utilizing the eLGU system to streamline their respective processes, enhance coordination, and ultimately improve the efficiency and quality of public service delivery.
