November 21, 2023- Regional Director of the Department of Agriculture, Mr. Red Dennis Arpia, engaged in a dialogue with Mayor Albee Benitez to discuss comprehensive agriculture recovery programs aimed at bolstering Western Visayas’ agricultural sector.

Present at this meeting were Congressman Greg Gasataya, Councilor Thaddy Sayson, and Councilor Lady Gles Pallen-Gonzales.

The meeting’s primary agenda is focused on rice and livestock under the Department of Agriculture’s purview. Director Arpia emphasized the need for targeted recovery initiatives, recognizing the role these sectors play in the economy of Western Visayas.

Moreover, Congressman Greg Gasataya and Councilor Thaddy Sayson voiced their concerns regarding the functionality of current systems and processes, highlighting the importance of streamlined operations for effective agricultural recovery. In addition, they earnestly requested essential equipment to fortify local agriculture and livelihood efforts, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable and resilient practices.
