February 11, 2025 – The City of Bacolod, together with Clean Air Asia, held a stakeholder engagement planning for the Integrated Urban Climate Action for Low-Carbon and Resilient Cities (Urban-Act) today at the Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod.

Various government organizations and departments participated during the discussion such as the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), DRRMO, DSSD, PAAD, P.I.O., Gender and Development Office, Youth Development Office, City Transport Office, Liga ng Barangay, and civil society organizations covering the Senior Citizens, Youth, among many others.

The Integrated Urban Climate Action for Low-Carbon and Resilient Cities (Urban-Act) is a project funded by the International Climate Initiative through the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action that aims for the transformation towards low-carbon and resilient urban development in the Philippines through sustainable urban planning and transportation.

Three objectives of the activity were shared such as to identify the city’s current community programs and effort, to share the process on the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) and identify the key roles of each sector, and for partner communities to effectively participate.

Additionally, the outputs gained during the activity will function as assessment tools, framework, and a guide for the CDP and the Land Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP).

Lastly, numerous activities were done during the discussion, including the plenary group discussion and presentation about GEDSI and Climate Change.
