October 14, 2024 – An initial discussion regarding the Diwali Festival to be held in the city was held today at the City Mayor’s Office, Bacolod City Government Center.

Together with Mayor Albee Benitez were Atty. Sonya Verdeflor, Pushpa Tan, Atty. Marty Go, and City Budget Head Imelda Williams.

The Diwali Festival celebration was first celebrated in the city in the year 2013 by the Filipino-Indian community under the City Ordinance No. 08-14-694 Series of 2014 or the Diwali Festival Ordinance of Bacolod City. This year’s Diwali Festival two-day celebration in the City of Bacolod is estimated to begin on December 6.
