March 24, 2025 – The City of Bacolod conducted an inauguration ceremony of the Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School Athletes’ Dormitory today at the Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School, Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City.

Present were Mayor Albee Benitez, Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Em Ang, Jason Villarosa, Celia Flor, and Pao Sy, together with the athletes, Special Assistant to the Mayor Engr. Mae Cuaycong, Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School Principal Gladys G. Gerona, and Bacolod City Department Heads.

The event highlighted a blessing ceremony of the building, followed by Mayor Albee Benitez’s opening speech and the school principal’s acceptance speech, and a photo opportunity.

During his opening speech, Mayor Albee Benitez recognized the potential of athletes and to provide them a proper facility for their training and rest.

With a budget of Php 12.5 million, the dormitory has a comfort room, dining and cooking area, an office, a stock room, and can accommodate a number of 32 student athletes.
