The City Legal Office Enforcement Unit, led by City Legal Officer Karol Joseph Chiu and Executive Assistant Ret. Col. Levy Pangue, cleared around 10 structures obstructing access to the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Office of Barangay 16 at around 8:00 AM today.

The structures, including a makeshift auto repair shop, had been blocking the entrance to the SK Federation Office and were issued five-day notices prior to the clearing operation, which were conducted along with personnel from the City Engineer’s Office, Office of the Building Official (OBO), Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Department (BTTMD), and several barangay officials.

With the cooperation of the concerned parties, the obstructions were dismantled peacefully, restoring safe access to the area for the youth and the community.

“This is part of our ongoing effort to ensure public spaces are clear and accessible for everyone,” said Col. Pangue.

He added that the next steps would include coordinating with the BTTMD to clear other identified traffic obstructions in the area to ease mobility and safety for the public.

The City Legal Office and its enforcement team continue to call on the public to cooperate with clearing operations as Bacolod intensifies efforts to reclaim public spaces for the benefit of all Bacolodnons.
