Today, on April 8, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines officially energized the newly completed Cebu-Negros-Panay 230-kilovolt Backbone Project, marking a monumental milestone in ensuring a stable transmission grid for our country.
It is a great honor that His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graced the inauguration ceremony, alongside key national and local government officials.
The completion of the final stage of the project on March 27 signifies the addition of 670 transmission towers, 442 circuit kilometers of overhead lines, and 98.9 circuit kilometers of submarine cables. Additionally, ten new substations were established, with two major substations expanded to accommodate the upgraded infrastructure.
As Mayor, I view this endeavor as a crucial milestone in strengthening our nation’s power infrastructure. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to NGCP and all stakeholders involved in this transformative undertaking.
