October 5, 2024 – With the theme, “Together 4 Teachers”, the City of Bacolod, through the Department of Education Division of Bacolod City celebrated the World Teachers’ Celebration 2024 today at the SMX Convention Center, SM City Bacolod.

Together with Mayor Albee Benitez were Cong. Greg Gasataya, Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Israel Salanga, Em Ang, Al Espino, Jason Villarosa, and Kalaw Puentevella, Schools Division Superintendent Reynaldo G. Gico, and a number of 4,189 teachers.

During the event, the SDO Bacolod Hymn was launched and Sum-Ag National High School was recognized for its Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, the highest achievement award in the Philippine bureaucracy, by the Philippine Civil Service Commission and the first to be given to the City of Bacolod.

Lastly, the World Teachers’ Day Celebration is an annual worldwide celebration every October 5 that aims to recognize the dedication, efforts, and commitment of educators. The attending teachers will be receiving rice, raffle prizes, and cash.
