July 15, 2024 – With the theme, “Sa PPAN Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat ng Bacolodnon”, the Urban Basic Services Division (UBSD), together with the City Health Office held the Baby Marathon Contest, one of the numerous Nutrition Month activities today at the Bacolod City Government Center Lobby.

In her welcoming message, City Nutrition Program Coordinator and UBSD Head Lora Clarin, emphasized that this year’s event is very specific for the community in Bacolod City, giving gratitude and recognizing the Barangay Health Stations, Nurses, and Midwives as nutrition warriors. Followed by a presentation by City Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Rosalie G. Deocampo wherein attendees were enlightened about planning a proper diet and sharing reminders to ensure the baby’s health and proper growth.

With a number of 34 fully-immunized participants ages 13 months old and below, the event was arranged with the primary purpose to raise awareness for parents about excess in nutrient intake and promote immunization of their infants.

Additionally, there is an ongoing PPANalo Digital Art Contest wherein Bacolodnons are encouraged fo participate and a PPANalo BCGC Wellness Day for the BCGC employees scheduled tomorrow that will cover nutrition counseling, massage, family planning services, and BacCHP application.
