February 14, 2024 – Warmly welcomed by Mayor Albee Benitez, the Baliguian Local Government Unit from Zamboanga del Norte had a courtesy call with the primary goal to benchmark Bacolod’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) today at the Bacolod City Government Center Lobby.

Key figures who were present during the meeting were Mayor Albee Benitez, Councilors Em Ang and Renecito Novero, CPDO Head Mary Jean Ramos, City Tourism Office Head Teresa Manalili, Municipality of Balaguian, Zamboanga Del Norte Mayor Gani Esmali Jr., Wife Terie Cris Esmali, Vice Mayor Vivian Chong, along with 50 Baliguian officials and employees.

The Baliguian LGU specifically chose Bacolod because they recognized the city as an awardee of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). The group plans to craft its own CLUP. Mayor Albee also shared with them the safety features added to our business permit and IDs for senior citizens and PWDs to ensure its validity. Additionally, the Baliguian officials presented Mayor Albee with a prized item called the Kawit, symbolizing the natural treasures of the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Coconut and Bamboo.
