Marvin B. Alob, a proud resident of Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, made history at the prestigious FIF Multinational Mortal Battle 2024 held on December 21 in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, securing gold in the Men’s Physique Short category and silver in the Men’s Physique Master division.
The event, recognized as one of the top bodybuilding competitions globally, brought together elite athletes from around the world, providing a stage for Alob to showcase his dedication and perseverance in the sport.
Alob, once a messenger navigating the streets of Bacolod, began with a simple desire. His commitment to fitness turned into a passion for bodybuilding, despite the challenges of limited resources and opportunities.
“It wasn’t just about lifting weights; it was about lifting myself out of a life where I thought I couldn’t achieve more,” Alob shared. “This event in Malaysia is proof that even someone like me, starting from nothing, can stand on an international stage.”
Now a fitness coach in Bacolod City and Murcia, Negros Occidental, Alob dedicates his time to helping others reach their potential.
Alob’s achievements have earned recognition from his hometown, with Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez praising him as a symbol of pride for the city. “Marvin represents the best of Bacolod. His journey from humble beginnings to the world stage is an inspiration for every Bacolodnon,” Mayor Benitez said, emphasizing the impact of Alob’s story on his fellow citizens.
The FIF Multinational Mortal Battle is not only a competition but also a platform for emerging talents to gain international recognition and step into the professional arena.
