August 31, 2023 – Under the guidance of Mayor Albee Benitez, Bacolod City emerged as a trailblazer in transforming document issuance, permit processing, and cultivating administrative practices that attract various cities and municipalities such as the Municipality of Maayon, Capiz, that seek to glean insights and strategies by partaking in a benchmarking session at MassKara Hall, Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) today.
As key personnel from different departments shared their experiences during the event, the focus on innovation extended to the Mayor’s permit issuance process, which now boasts an expedited e-signature endorsement by the Mayor upon completion of tax documents. This move is anticipated to significantly reduce waiting times for Business Permits and Licensing.
Moreover, representing the Municipality of Maayon, Mayor Raymond Malapao, RN, Engr. Elmer Jimenea Jr. took the stage at the BCGC, emphasizing the need for development in handling various governmental functions.
Head of the City Treasurer’s Office Arlene Memoria also presented a streamlined approach to business tax billing requests, aiming to centralize agencies’ interactions in a unified location, while City Health Office Sanitary Inspector Jasmine Santiago shed light on the online processing of documents and permits, offering insight into the digitized mechanisms of BCGC.
As Bacolod City pioneers innovative document handling and governance, the benchmarking with Maayon Municipality showcases the local authorities’ dedication to streamlined and modern services for their constituents.
