August 10, 2024- The Bacolod Rum Festival officially opened today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Food Park, led by Mayor Albee Benitez, Bacolod City Councilors, BCPO City Director PCol. Joeresty Coronica, Tourism Head Teresa Manalili, Atty. Hermilo Pa-oyon, and Tanduay Executives at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).
Following the ceremony, the event continued with a short program at the BCGC lobby. Mayor Albee Benitez delivered a message of gratitude for the festival’s success. Councilor Em Ang then provided a history of the festival, and Councilor Jason Villarosa outlined the activities scheduled for this year’s Rum Festival.
The Food Park and kiosks will be open from today until August 18. The nine-day festival will offer a diverse lineup of activities celebrating Bacolod’s vibrant culture and rum heritage.
