February 20, 2024 – With Mayor Albee Benitez‘s commitment to prioritize the health and well-being of Bacolodnons, Councilor Kalaw Puentevella, Chairman Committee on Health, Engr. Mae Cuaycong, Special Assistant to the Mayor, Dr. Eric Saratan, Special Advisor for Health, and BacCHP Medical Director Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr., gathered alongside Bacolod Hospitals for the preparation of the First Health Summit 2024.

The meeting, attended by prominent hospitals such as Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital, Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, The Doctor’s Hospital Inc., South Bacolod General Hospital, Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Riverside Medical Center Inc., and the Teresita Locsin Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, addressed urgent issues including the Special Health Fund, Universal Health Care, Bed Allocation, Transfer of Patients, and Bacolod’s Health Situationer.

To tackle identified challenges, breakout sessions were planned, allowing each hospital to propose topics for in-depth discussions. A follow-up meeting is scheduled to delve deeper into the proposed topics, ensuring comprehensive discussions in preparation for the upcoming Health Summit.
