August 28, 2024-The Seal of Local Good Governance (SGLG) National Assessment Team recently conducted a comprehensive session in Bacolod City to prepare the LGU for the 2024 SGLG indicators. The session focused on equipping the city’s various functional teams with the necessary strategies and best practices to meet the stringent criteria of the SGLG. With the National Validation event set for September 6, 2024, Bacolod City is focused on making sure all areas of local governance meet national standards.
Key participants in the coaching included teams from Financial & Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection & Sensitivity, Health Compliance & Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Business-Friendliness & Competitiveness, Tourism Heritage Development Culture & Arts, Environmental Management, Youth Development, and Safety, Peace, and Order.
Present at the event were Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Celia Flor, and Cindy Rojas, City Administrator Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, CPDO Head Ms. Mary Jean Ramos, and DILG OIC Director Christian Nagaynay. Their involvement highlights Bacolod’s strong commitment to securing the SGLG award and upholding good governance.
