February 16, 2024–The Bacolod Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), under the leadership of Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan with Councilor Pao Sy, in collaboration with the Coast Guard, conducted a sea trial of their latest rescue boats — one motorized boat and one paddle boat, both equipped with essential gears. The boats have the capacity to hold 8 and 3 individuals, respectively.

This initiative aimed to ensure the effectiveness and readiness of the vessels in emergency situations. It represents a significant step forward in enhancing the DRRMO’s capacity to respond promptly and efficiently to emergencies, thereby safeguarding the welfare of the community and maritime activities.
