The City of Bacolod has once again proven its dedication to transparent and accountable governance as it is recognized with the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). This prestigious national award, bestowed by the Council of Good Local Governance through the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), affirms Bacolod’s commitment to implementing transformative programs and delivering high-quality public service.
This 2024, a rigorous assessment was conducted across 1,715 local government units (LGUs) nationwide. Bacolod emerged as one of the select cities that successfully met the comprehensive “all-in” standards of the SGLG, highlighting its excellence in financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business-friendliness, and other critical areas of governance.
Mayor Albee Benitez has been formally invited to attend the 2024 SGLG National Awarding Ceremony today, December 9, 2024, at The Tent City of The Manila Hotel. The event celebrates the Seal’s 10th year of recognizing local government units that demonstrate exemplary governance under the theme “Isang Dekada ng Pagkilala sa Tapat at Mahusay na Pamamahala.”
As an SGLG passer, Bacolod City is now eligible for the SGLG Incentive Fund and other national program benefits, enabling it to further enhance its initiatives in delivering inclusive and sustainable progress for its residents.
Mayor Benitez expressed his gratitude to the city’s employees, stakeholders, and citizens for their unwavering commitment to making Bacolod a model city of good governance. “This achievement reflects our shared vision and hard work in advancing meaningful reforms and creating a brighter future for Bacolodnons,” he said.
The recognition serves as both a reward and a challenge for Bacolod City to sustain its remarkable performance as it works toward a matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay para sa lahat.
