March 25, 2025 – The City of Bacolod, through its Urban Basic Services Division (UBSD), officially launches the Breastfeeding and Lactation Room today at the Bacolod City Government Center.

Present during the opening were Mayor Albee Benitez, Councilor Celia Flor, and City Nutrition Office Head Lora Clarin, City Health Office Dr. Grace Tan, CCLDO Head Brenda Burdeos, DSSD Head Dr. Richelle Verdeprado and PDAO Alma Gustilo, DILG Bacolod PM Mai Malongayon, together with the Department of Health.

The Breastfeeding and Lactation Room was made possible through Resolution No. 168 s. 2025 and its opening is in line with the celebration of the National Women’s Month with the theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

The room, co-shared with the DSSD’s child minding room wherein breastfeeding mothers can allow their children to play, is located at the 3rd floor of BCGC beside the UBSD office and is open to the public and city government employees from Monday to Friday office hours.
