
The City of Bacolod, through its Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), gathered for the Bacolod Earth Hour 2025 last March 22 at the Bacolod City Government Center Grounds.
Attended by BENRO Officer-In-Charge Ma. Fe Trespuentes and the Bacolod City Climate and Environment Council Vice Chairperson and Councilor Kalaw Puentevella, together with numerous organizations such as the Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and the Environment, Youth Empowering Youth Initiative, Sagup Negros, among many others.
With an estimated number of 2,000 attendees, the event aims to advocate for environmental protection, energy efficiency and conservation, and climate action.
Under City Ordinance No. 1076 s. 2024, the Bacolod City Climate and Environment Council was established which has the function for the protection, conservation, and the management of the natural resources within Bacolod City to mitigate the effects of climate change.
With these initiatives, Bacolod City stays committed and dedicated to fostering an increased environmental awareness and active community participation towards achieving a more sustainable future.
