
February 18, 2025- The Bacolod City Health Office – Dental Division successfully launched the National Oral Health Month Celebration at Ayala Malls Capitol, with the theme “Pamilya Una Kong Dentista: #Ngiting7020.” The event aimed to promote the importance of oral health and encourage families to prioritize dental care as part of their well-being.
Councilor Kalaw Puentevella, Chair of the Committee on Health and Sanitation, delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the role of proper oral hygiene in overall health. Dr. Ramon Mateo Grecia Jr., the Department of Health’s Oral Health Program Manager for the Western Visayas Center for Health Development, also shared valuable insights about the significance of oral health in the community and the government’s efforts to improve dental services.
Various stakeholders were present during the event, including representatives from Bacolod City’s barangays, the Department of Health’s Western Visayas Center for Health Development, the Negros Island Region Center for Health Development, and the Provincial Health Office – Dental Division. Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital’s Dental Department also participated in the celebration.
Other notable attendees included the Barangay Health Centers, Department of Social Services and Development, Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Bureau of Fire Protection – Bacolod City Fire Station, Metro Bacolod District Jail, and the Philippine Coast Guard Northern Negros Occidental. Child Development Centers, DepEd Bacolod City, the Philippine Dental Association Negros Occidental Chapter, Barangay Health Workers, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars also showed their support.
The event offered a range of activities focused on raising awareness and promoting education in an engaging and interactive way. This initiative highlighted the importance of family involvement in maintaining good oral health and encouraged all participants to take steps toward a healthier, brighter smile.
